Hi friends
Sadly, I am unable to make MWFB happen this year as last year’s boards were destroyed with all the recent rain in Brisbane and this is a self funded project.
BUT, I just wanted to share a couple of goings on in Queensland.
1. THIS tower (some say monstrosity). http://www.treasury.qld.gov.au/projects-queensland/projects/william-street/
I very much agree with the Qld Govt architect Philip Follent who describes the proposed tower as “architecturally underwhelming” and “very much the outcome of economic calculations. It is certainly not a design-led outcome.”
2. TRANSPORT. Transport issues came up a lot in MWFB 2012. You may have heard yesterday that responsibility for the recent review is shifting from Translink to Council. The Translink review proposed changes that were pretty significant and included scrapping routes and reducing the number of buses. If you would like to comment, you can still do so (deadline 7 April) and your comments will be passed on to Council.

If you haven’t heard the news, UR{BNE} is back for 2013. Like them on FB for the latest updates.
BUT I need your help/advice. Brisbane City Council is on board for UR{BNE} 2013 and people are keen to bring back ‘my wish for brisbane’.
Any suggestions as to where the boards might be located this year?
Wishers! I haven’t forgotten about you.
Did you hear that according to the Federal Government’s State of Australian Cities report, Adelaide is Australia’s most livable city?
More importantly, our city’s draft city plan is out. The last (and current) city plan is from 2000, so these plans dont get written every year. Check it out, provide feedback to Council and register for updates!
my wish for brisbane is a visionary lord mayor.

Hey friends, followers, dreamers, placemakers,
Sorry for the delay between posts. The boards have said goodbye to the botanical gardens and are currently on holiday (suggestions for other locations welcome). I do have a few more wishes to share on the blog before polling your top 5 wishes.
In the meantime, don’t forget to register for Diner en Blanc - see you there!
